Breast revision surgery is performed to address dissatisfaction with results or to correct complications.
Because it is essential to accurately identify and improve the cause of failure from the previous breast surgery, you should always consult with an experienced specialist.
At the id Breast Center, we do our utmost to deliver results you can be satisfied with — in shape, movement, and feel.
Do I Need a Breast Revision?

When an implant is placed in the body, it is recognized as a foreign object, and the body forms a protective capsule around it. If this capsule forms excessively, it can harden, causing discomfort and aesthetic issues.

This can occur due to inaccurate design, improper dissection, or failure to consider the individual's chest structure during surgery, resulting in breast asymmetry or dissatisfaction with size.

If you notice unusual changes in your breast and an ultrasound exam confirms implant damage or rupture, replacement is recommended.
Successful Breast Revision in Any Case

After breast augmentation, the capsule around the implant can thicken, causing the breast to harden and its shape to deform.
In revision surgery, this thickened capsule must be completely removed.

Capsular contracture is classified into four grades based on severity. Grades 3-4 require surgical correction.
Grade 1
Symptom
Feels natural; implant is not detectable by touch
Surgery consideration
Observation may be considered depending on condition
Grade 2
Symptom
No major discomfort, but implant is detectable by touch
Surgery consideration
Observation or consultation may be considered
Grade 3
Symptom
Noticeable firmness even to the patient
Surgery consideration
Surgical correction may be considered
Grade 4
Symptom
Visible implant outline and shape distortion
Surgery consideration
Surgical correction may be considered

Suitability for breast reduction surgery should be checked through consultation and pre-surgery medical examination based on the patient’s symptoms and physical condition.
How suitability is checked
Why consultation matters
At id Hospital
Yes. id Hospital describes revision breast surgery as a procedure that requires careful planning, including consultation with a breast surgery specialist and cause analysis using breast ultrasonography.
When revision may be considered
At id Hospital
A breast lift is mainly used to correct sagging, while breast lifting with augmentation can also increase breast size with implants.
How to compare the options
At id Hospital
Patients should compare whether the main concern is sagging, breast size, or both, and confirm the appropriate option through consultation.
How the options differ
At id Hospital
At id Hospital, the breast augmentation incision approach is decided after consultation, medical check-up, and implant selection.
How the approach is planned
At id Hospital
Recovery can differ by procedure because breast lifting and breast augmentation have different surgery details.
Recovery information
At id Hospital
A breast lift and implants address different concerns, so long-term planning should consider sagging correction, volume goals, implant choice, and follow-up care.
How the goals differ
At id Hospital
Travel timing should be confirmed with id Hospital because the provided pages describe examination steps and procedure recovery times, but do not give one fixed stay length for all breast surgeries.
